‘The Penthouse’ Director Joo Dong Min Leaves SBS; Special Episode of Season 3 Will Air on June 2nd

The Penthouse director Joo Dong Min has resigned from SBS’s subsidiary Studio S.

On May 31st, SBS confirmed the news about Joo’s departure from Studio S and said, “It’s true that director Joo Dong Min has left Studio S. But he will continue to direct The Penthouse as a freelancer.” However, about the report of him producing the new webtoon-adapted series, they added, “We can’t confirm the fact yet.”

Joo joined SBS in 2004, and since then, he has directed and produced various projects, including Cheongdamdong Alice, Return, and The Last Empress.

Meanwhile, The Penthouse 3 confirmed to air its special episode “Hidden Room: The Beginning of the End” on June 2nd at 9 PM KST. For this episode, the 5 Penthouse kids – Kim Hyung Soo, Kim Young Dae, Han Ji Hyun, Choi Ye Bin, and Lee Tae Bin – and 3 secretaries – Kim Jae Hong, Kim Do Hyun, and Kim Dong Kyu – will make guest appearances.

In the “Penthouse Youth Theater” segment, the five Penthouse kids will go over the past two seasons’ highlights. Then, the three secretaries will share various behind-the-scene stories, such as casting stories and funny episodes.

On top of that, the special episode will introduce the three new actors who have newly joined the show: On Joo Wan, Park Ho San, and Ahn Yun Hong. And lastly, it will unveil the pre-released clips of the new season for the first time.
