TWICE’s ‘Breakthrough’ MV Surpasses 100 Million Views; Now the Group with the Most Videos to Reach that Benchmark

TWICE has set a new world record. They because the girl group with the largest number of music videos that have surpassed 100 million views.

At around 10:48 pm KST, on the 15th, TWICE reached 100 million views with their Japanese song “Breakthrough” music video, released in July 2019. This is the group’s 17th music video to record such a feat. Before then, Little Mix, who had sixteen 100 million-viewed music videos, was at the top of the list. But now, TWICE landed at the No. 1 spot with seventeen 100 million-viewed music videos.

Actually, the popularity of “Breakthrough” was already heralded when more than 250,000 copies were sold in Japan in just one month.

However, TWICE’s record-breaking streak is expected to continue. Starting from their debut song “Like OOH-AHH,” all of their title songs have garnered millions of views. “TT” has already exceeded 600 million views, while “Likey” recorded 500 million views. In addition, “What Is Love?,” “Cheer Up,” “Fancy,” and “Like OOH-AHH” have all recorded 400 million views.

And on June 11th, TWICE will be dropping their new mini-album Taste of Love. The official music video for the new title track will be unveiled two days before the album’s release (June 9th at 6 PM KST). An insider shared, “The new title track is a beautiful song. It will further complete TWICE members’ beauty.”

On top of that, the group will be continuing their promotions in Japan. TWICE is scheduled to release their 3rd Japanese full album, Perfect World, on July 29th.
