Song Kang Soars High as an Actor with ‘Navillera’

tvN’s Navillera came to a solid end, comforting those in their twilight years and those struggling in their youth.

In the final episode, Deok Chul decided to give up on his performance due to worsening Alzheimer’s. However, with his faith in Chae Rok, he perfectly performed Swan Lake‘s ballet duet, the part that he loves the most. Like that, this man in his 70s achieved the dream of his lifetime.

Deok Chul fulfilled his dream, but his illness only got worsened. Though he forgot most of the things, he instantly recognized Chae Rok, whom he met for the first time in years. To Deok Chul, who asks, “Did you soar high?” Chae Rok nods with tears in his eyes. Like the beautiful scenery around them, Song Kang and Park In Hwan beautifully decorated the finale of their bromance.

According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode of Navillera recorded 3.7% ratings nationwide and soared as high as 4.8%.

Song Kang shared heartfelt words about the end of the series. “A lot has happened in the last five months. I had to do ballet and act at the same time. During this time, I learned a lot and had so much fun working with great seniors.”

Song Kang impeccably showed off his acting skills that capture both rich emotions and comedy. Through Navillera, the actor has solidified his position as a “genre destroyer” by successfully digesting a “human” genre, following romance (Love Alarm) and thriller (Sweet Home).
