Red Velvet’s Wendy Breaks New Grounds for Female Korean Soloists with Staggering Records

Red Velvet’s Wendy proved her power as she swept first places on global charts when she made her solo debut.

After being released on April 5th, Wendy’s first mini-album Like Water topped iTunes Top Album Chart within 30 different regions, including Finland, Australia, Norway, Greece, New Zealand, Mexico, Malaysia, Peru, and Brazil.

It is the highest record ever for a Korean female solo artist. The record proves the undying interests and love of global fans for Wendy.

The album also dominated the Korean charts, including Hanteo Chart and Yes24. Its title song, “Like Water,” has also been staying put on the top of music charts since its release. Wendy’s first solo album has a total of 5 songs, including the double title tracks “Like Water” and “When This Rain Stops.” Music fans are sending enthusiastic responses to the singer’s charming voice and the warm sentiments.
