SHINee’s Minho will make a surprise appearance on Yumi’s Cells.
Yumi’s Cells is based on the popular webtoon of the same name. Like the webtoon, the drama revolves around an ordinary office worker named Yumi (played by Kim Go Eun). But the story unfolds from her brain cells’ point of view.
Minho will turn into Woo Gi, whom Yumi had a crush on. In the webtoon, Woo Gi is a character with a unique presence. Attention focuses on what Minho will show as Woo Gi.
Meanwhile, Minho started his acting career in 2010 with the drama Drama Special Season 1: Pianist. Since then, he solidified his position as an actor through works like To The Beautiful You, The Most Beautiful Goodbye, and The Battle of Jangsari. Recently, he made a special appearance on Kakao TV’s Lovestruck in the City.
Yumi’s Cells will premiere in the second half of the year. The script is written by Memories of the Alhambra screenwriter Song Jae Jung, Find Me in Your Memory screenwriter Kim Yoon Joo and rookie writer Kim Kyung Ran. Familiar Wife, Shopping King Louie, and The King’s Daughter, Soo Baek Hyang director Lee Sang Yeob will helm the production.
