Choi Woo Shik and Kim Dami, the two actors from The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion  will reunite in the new drama.

According to Newsen, Choi Woo Shik and Kim Dami will take the lead roles in Studio N’s television venture That Year, We Were (literal title). This project will be the first original series of Studio N, an affiliate of Naver. It has been at the heart of attention both inside and outside of the broadcasting circle since the planning stage.

An industry insider shared, “Choi Woo Shik and Kim Dami will be the male and female leads of Studio N’s drama That Year, We Were. I am aware that they have recently signed a contract. The filming will likely begin in the second half of this year.”

That Year, We Were is a romantic comedy-drama about ex-lovers who must face each other again. In the series, a documentary they filmed during their high school gained popularity ten years later. They have no choice but to stand in front of the camera together once again. Subtle yet complicated feelings of the two will fill up the screen.

Choi Woo Shik plays Choi Woong. He seems to lack prudence and free-spirited, but he brings out his true feelings when he finds the one he wants for the first time. Kim Dami will play Gook Yeon Soo. In her school days, her goal was to top her class. Now, she became an adult who lives in brutal reality with scars in her heart.

Studio N, a subsidiary of Naver Webtoon, has been working hard to find the ‘rising star’ for their first original content. Another official added, “In that sense, the double-casting of Choi Woo Shik and Kim Dami, who have both solid acting skills and popularity, is the result of their hard work.”

After The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion, Choi Woo Shik joined the A-list of global stars with Parasite. As for Kim Dami, she made back-to-back hits with JTBC’s hit-drama Itaewon Class.

Meanwhile, That Year, We Were plans to launch a new method called “drama & webtoon simultaneous planning and production.” Webtoon of the same title will be released through Naver Webtoon, and the drama will be produced as a 16-part series.
