Netflix has released a teaser video of Park Hoon Jung’s upcoming film-noir, Night in Paradise.
Night in Paradise depicts the story of a man who is being targeted by a gang, and a woman on the edge of her life. As a new work directed by Park Hoon Jung, the rising creator of Korean film-noirs, it is to follow The New World and The Witch. It was also the only Korean film to be officially invited to the non-competing section of the 77th Venice International Film Festival.
Seen in the revealed trailer is a tense atmosphere as Tae Goo (played by Uhm Tae Goo) flies to Jeju Island after becoming everyone’s target, and his first encounter with Jae Yeon (Jeon Yeo Been). Executive Ma (Cha Seung Won) is seen to chase Tae Goo, making the video even more exciting. The dry voice of Tae Goo saying “I’ll be right back,” also leaves a lingering impression amongst other elements which herald the movie to be an exceptional film-noir.
After sparking great expectations with its teaser video, Night in Paradise will greet viewers in more than 190 regions around the world through Netflix on April 9th.
