Sechs Kies and You Hee Yeol’s new project song “Don’t Look Back” will be unveiled on February 5.
Yesterday, tvN released the poster for Sechs Kies and You Hee Yeol’s new song “Don’t Look Back.” Along with the release schedule “2021.02.05 (FRI) 6PM KST” Sechs Kies members and You Hee Yeol are posing in black suits, creating an emotional mood.
In the first episode of tvN’s new song project Don’t Look Back, which was released ahead of the actual song, the prelude of the album production heralded a fun recording process and music video filming, capturing viewers’ eyes and ears.
Though 1st-generation K-pop star Sechs Kies and ballad singer You Hee Yeol have pursued different genres, they felt a kinship from the fact that they are “music comrades” who worked in the 90s. You expressed his joy in the collaboration, saying, “(Because I worked as a radio Dj at the time) Sechs Kies was like these star idols for me.”
In particular, You Hee Yeol, who wrote a new song for the first time in 7 years, added, “I’ve received so many requests for songs. But I didn’t write any song because I couldn’t find the right instrument to sing my song, but I’ve finally found one now.”
Meanwhile, Don’t Look Back was accomplished as You Hee Yeol kept his pledge he made back in May last year to record a ballad song with Sechs Kies if Antenna Music’s YouTube channel surpasses 150,000 subscribers.
