Confidential Assignment will return with the sequel Confidential Assignment 2: International.

According to CJ ENM, Confidential Assignment 2: International (hereinafter referred to as Confidential Assignment 2) has confirmed the cast of Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae Jin, YoonA, Daniel Henney and Jin Seon Kyu and began preparing for the filming in earnest.

Confidential Assignment (director Kim Sung Hoon) attracted a total of 7.81 million moviegoers, landing at No. 3 on the box office hit of 2017. And for the sequel, Daniel Henney and Jin Seon Kyu newly joined the team, raising expectations for the bigger scale and fun.

Confidential Assignment 2 will be about an unpredictable global cooperation between North Korean detective Lim Chul Ryeong (Hyun Bin), who returned to South Korea to chase a brutal and meticulous crime organization, South Korean detective Kang Jin Tae (Yoo Hae Jin), who partnered with Lim again with hopes to make a comeback to the regional investigation unit, and FBI agent Jack (Daniel Henney).

Like the prequel, Hyun Bin will be playing Lim Cheol Ryeong, who has visited South Korea for the second time. With his partner Kang Jin Tae, he will give off more relaxed and humane charms along with intense action scenes that go beyond the prequel.

Yoo Hae Jin is cast for the role of South Korean detective Kang Jin Tae once again and conducts a fantastic collaboration with Hyun Bin. After being transferred to a cyber investigation team after making a mistake, he volunteers to be Chul Ryeong’s partner with a big wish to return to the regional investigation unit.

YoonA will return as Jin Tae’s sister-in-law Park Min Young and show her undying affection for Cheol Ryeong. Daniel Henny and Jin Seon Kyu have joined the project as FBI agent Jack, who chases a North Korean criminal organization involved in global crime, and the North Korean crime boss, respectively.

Unlike the prequel, Confidential Assignment 2 will be helmed by The Pirates and The Himalayas director Lee Seok Hoon.
