The artist posted an image with the caption “I’m Sorry, Jungin,” via Instagram on the 3rd, explaining that “Because of people who brutally abused and killed this young angel who only deserved to be loved, and because of laws that sent them back even after multiple reports because there lacked evidence. These are the things that are killing and making children sick.”

She continued, “Why is the law for this especially light? Is it because alcohol excuses the weakness of the mind? These are lives, innocent lives who we need to protect.” She also added that all violence inflicted on powerless lives must be stopped immediately.

Earlier on the afternoon of the 2nd, SBS Unanswered Questions aired the episode of “Why did Jungin die?” The episode covered the death of Jungin, who passed away 271 days after being adopted by foster parents at about 7 months old.

The abuse of foster parents is suspected in the incident, and calls are high for changing the dark reality of children in the blind spots of abuse. On this day, Unanswered Questions proposed an “I’m Sorry Jungin” challenge to raise awareness.

In response, many celebrities are joining the challenge through their SNSs. TV personalities Kim Won Hyo, Shim Jin Hwa, actors Hwang In Young, Seo Hyo Rim, and Han Chae Ah also made related posts on their SNSs.
