Wassup Man is en route to making a big donation to celebrate the New Year.

In an episode of Studio Lululala’s Wassup Man revealed on the 1st of January, Joon Park (Park Joon Hyung) announced that he will donate his own money along with the Christmas carol proceeds. Joon Park had previously produced and released a carol “Christmas Tears” with band Hyukoh as a part of the Wassup Man donation project back in 2018.

The music revenue collected over the past two years sums up to about 5 million Won. On top of this, Joon Park added another 5 million Won from his expenses. Hence, the 10 million Won collected in total will be donated to ChildFund Korea in the name of Wassup Man. Joon Park revealed the reason behind donating to children as he said, “It’s even more heartbreaking because children can’t choose their environment.”

In the video released on New Year’s Day, Joon Park also goes to Yeosu to watch the sunrise. He shows the sunrise to those who can’t go to see it due to the spread of COVID-19. Joon Park also makes rice cake soup to celebrate New Year’s Day on a yacht while waiting for the sunrise. While looking at the sea with a rising sun, he says, “I hope to leave all the frustrating regrets of 2020 and become brighter and healthier in 2021.” He wraps the first episode of Wassup Man of the new year by greeting the viewers a “Happy New Year.”
