On Dec 27, movie site TC Candler released their choice for “The 100 Most Beautiful Faces 2020” through their official YouTube.
Momoland’s Nancy, Nana, TWICE’s Tzuyu and Blackpink’s Lisa each ranked within the Top 10, making headlines. However, what sparked a controversy was TC Candler’s choice of words when introducing Blackpink’s Jisoo, who landed at No. 50.
After introducing Jisoo as a Korean singer, dancer and model, they wrote, “Her English is a pity,” which fans and netizens found disrespectful. And soon, “#APOLOGIZETOJISOOTccandler” trended on Twitter.
This kind of description is unacceptable, inappropriate, and extremely rude. To criticize someone based on their english speaking is beyond hurtful.@tccandler RESPECT JISOO#APOLOGIZETOJISOOTccandler @BLACKPINK pic.twitter.com/LyfWTlPUR9

Jisoo has worked with Dior and Cartier, she is a CERTIFIED fashion and beauty influencer on BOF and WWD. Apart from her jokes, she also said a lot of wise words in her interviews. it's not funny, you're the pity one @tccandler

Jisoo is a Singer, Songwriter, Dancer, Actress, Model, etc., and you decided to make her description about English? Did you think this was funny? Her English is fine. Never speak on it again. @tccandler pic.twitter.com/Rbn5JSF1rd

TC Candler’s new post even further enraged the fans. Claiming that what they wrote was Jisoo’s “own jokes,” they stated, “We love Jisoo… and she will like that joke. End of discussion.” They even tweeted, “199 Silly Jokes… but they think that one was serious. We love Jisoo. We are not apologizing. She WILL love that joke.”

Even after their “explanations,” fans are strongly refuting their claims of “Jisoo liking the joke.” Here are some comments.
Jisoo said that her favorite english sentence was "That's a pity." She did not said that HER ENGLISH is a pity. Can you spot the difference?! Where is the joke there?! Come on!

She said WHAT A PITY OR IT'S A PITY
It's very different from what you've cautioned on her picture! You just said to her that HER English is A PITY!

You've used her joke to mock her English. It's disrespectful. Just fix the description and apologize, it's not that hard.
