BTS leader RM and Henry have been named This Year’s Art Patrons by the Arts Council Korea.

Today, Arts Council Korea selected six companies and four individuals from seven categories as winners of This Year’s Art Patrons.

Back in September, RM donated 100 million KRW (about 89,915 USD) to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA). The museum used his donation to publish its out-of-print art publications for distribution to public libraries and schools.

Henry, who is running his own YouTube channel, discovers musical prodigies through his own content “Henry Together.” The singer is also an honorary ambassador of Orchestra of Dream, inspired by Venezuela’s youth orchestra movement “El Sistema.”

Ha Jung Woong, the Gwangju Museum of Art’s honorary director who has donated more than 12,000 art pieces to art museums and universities, has also been named This Year’s Art Patron.

Of the 6 companies, mobile carrier KT, which sponsors struggling small theaters and runs its own KT Chamber Orchestra, and Oriental Brewery, which supports indie musicians suffering from the pandemic, are included.
