“2020 APAN Star Awards” and “2020 APAN Music Awards,” which had been postponed due to the pandemic, have confirmed its revised dates as January 23 and 24.
Originally, the 2020 APAN Star Awards, organized by the Korea Entertainment Management Association (CEMA), and the newly-organized 2020 APAN Music Awards were scheduled to air in November but was postponed amid surging Korea COVID-19 cases. And today, APAN Awards committee announced the new schedule.
Kang Min, chairman of APAN Awards committee, said, “There has been growing social concern over the recent re-surge of COVID-19 cases, and the priority is to prevent further damage and prevent the safety of artists, staff and officials. Inevitably, we decided to hold the awards ceremony on January 23 and 24 next year.”
Son Sung Min, executive chairman of APAN Awards, shared, “We are very concerned about the rapid spread of COVID-19. However, we have put a lot of time and effort into preparing for the successful award ceremony. Therefore, we will keep close tabs on the COVID-19 situation for the remaining time and make sure we hold successful award ceremonies by following the relevant quarantine measures.”
