Han Ji Min and Nam Joo Hyuk, who starred in the drama The Light in Your Eyes as a couple, reunited in the film Josée, which is set to be released in December. It seems like a fate to work together in one film, but if two actors get together in another project and continue on their “romance,” viewers naturally raise their expectations. Let’s take a look at the actors who have shown such perfect “couple chemistry” that they seem to communicate with their eyes.

These two pair starred together in three projects. The first meeting between the two took place in the film Silenced. They worked together as a human rights activist and a teacher who dig into the truth about the sexual violence at a school for the deaf. There was no romance as the film deals with solemn topics, but the two presented a strong bond beyond colleagues, adding strength to the work. Later, the two starred together in Train to Busan, which attracted 10 million moviegoers, and Kim Ji-young: Born 1982. In the latest film, the two became a couple that overcomes hardships such as childcare and reemployment with love and care for each other. In fact, these two close friends showed off their friendship in interviews and stage greetings, drawing enthusiastic responses from fans.

Lee Dong Wook – Yoo In Na

In Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin), Yoo In Na and Lee Dong Wook each came out as an odd-ball fried chicken restaurant owner and a grim reaper, who lost all memories about his past life, and showed a comical yet affectionate love story. The sight of them heading towards a sad ending because of unfortunate circumstances has certainly made the viewers cry with them. Their romance, however, was fulfilled three years later in the drama Touch Your Heart. Yoo In Na and Lee Dong Wook completed “bickering romance” as a top star who got a job at a law firm for character research and an ace lawyer at the law firm. The scene where the two first greet each other and the characters’ personalities made it seem like they were the reincarnations of the lovers from Goblin, receiving hot cheers from “WookNa” couple’s fans.

Jun Ji Hyun – Kim Soo Hyun

In The Thieves, Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun joined hands as cat burglar Yenicall and the youngest of the crew Zampano, creating both the thrill delivered by their theft and heart-fluttering moments with their “flirting.” And a year later, the two starred in My Love from the Star and continued their romance. Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun played Hallyu star Chun Song Yi and alien Do Min Joon, fascinating viewers with their perfect visuals. In fact, Jun Ji Hyun denied the offer to star in the drama due to scheduling issues, but with the continued persuasion of Kim Soo Hyun, she joined the project and led to work to great success. Then at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards, Jun won the TV category’s Grand Prize. During her acceptance speech, she thanked Kim Soo Hyun and said, “Let’s work together again next time.” And now, we are all looking forward to seeing them on the same screen once again.

Besides “GongGo (Gong Yoo & Kim Go Eun)” couple and “WookNa” couple, there was also one more romance in the air. “Melo master” Jung Hae In made a guest appearance as Kim Go Eun’s first love, presenting fresh and heart-fluttering romance despite his short screen time. Their chemistry continued on to the big screen. In the film Tune in for Love, the two reunited as Hyun Woo and Mi Soo, who continued their affectionate love from 1994 to 2004 through radio even when fate pulled them apart. Not only did they continue the pure and innocent emotions from Goblin, but they also honestly expressed the growth of the characters who overcome the tough realities.

Son Ye Jin – Hyun Bin

Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin worked together in several works, but there are only a handful of scenes where the two appeared on the same screen. In Secret Garden, Son Ye Jin only made her cameo appearance, and in the 2018 film The Negotiation, the two had a fierce battle as a terrorist and a negotiator, but except for a few scenes in the latter half, they are barely seen together. It wasn’t until Crash Landing on You that the two got to look into each others’ eyes on screen. The two transformed into a South Korean heiress and a North Korean army officer, building up their love that goes beyond the border. Thanks to their passionate performances, the drama recorded the network’s highest ratings and dominated Netflix, starting the K-drama craze around the world.
