SM Entertainment has warned of stern and harsh actions against those who spread false rumors and malicious comments directed at their artists.
On November 2, SM Entertainment announced their official position and warned all haters who wrote malicious comments.
“We have employed more than 10 law firms, including the nation’s top law firms and law firms specializing in related fields, in connection with various illegal acts against our artists, and will conduct strong civil and criminal legal actions against illegal acts accordingly,” SM wrote.
“Please be careful not to get involved in unsavory affairs,” they continued. “In addition, we have received thousands of reports every day through our tip-off email account, which opened in December 2017, and have confirmed all of them and filed complaints frequently after consulting with the artist.”
SM added, “With a huge amount of malicious postings and groundless rumors still being posted, we are checking into illegal activities and those who are committing them based on our own monitoring and with the help of fans’ reports and domestic and overseas platforms and portal sites. We are still taking legal action on a number of issues, and a number of them have been convicted of a crime.”
