BTS started the “BTS Week” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with jaw-dropping performances.
Day 1 of a weeklong special just kicked off on September 28 at 11:35 p.m. EST, with two performances of BTS – “Dynamite” and “IDOL.”
BTS, famous American hip hop band The Roots, and television host Jimmy Fallon also joined hands to sing a half-A cappella, half-rock band rendition of their disco-funk single “Dynamite.” Earlier today, BTS’s mega-hit song reclaimed the #1 spot on the coveted Billboard Hot 100 and topped several other Billboard charts. The colorful and funky collaboration grabbed the attention of many!
For the “IDOL” performance, the BTS members held a one of a kind performance. The seven members performed their song in front of the Geunjeongjeon, which is the throne hall of the main royal palace called Gyeongbokgung. This never-before-seen ”IDOL” stage showcased BTS in chic, sophisticated hanbok outfits as they danced to a choreography that was inspired by traditional Korean dances. The palace was even lit up with purple lights, making it an unforgettable stage.
With BTS’s passionate performance, hashtags like âGyeongbukgung Idolâ started to show up on the Worldwide Twitter Trends.
On top of this, NBC TV Network celebrated the beginning of âBTS Weekâ on Twitter. The official Twitter accounts of various NBC programs began a relay-style rendition of âDynamiteâ on Twitter.
Over the next five days, BTS will be appearing on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as part of the âBTS Weekâ special. The seven-piece group will be holding five special live performances, virtual interviews, and comedy sketches. In addition, they will be the lead guests on the September 30th episode.
