IU took the nation by storm with her “mini-concert” in You Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.
On Sept. 18, IU appeared on KBS’s You Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook and had a special “mini-concert” to mark her 12th anniversary of debut. During the 100-minute episode, IU pouted out her hit songs, unreleased songs, interviews, and special performances.
This special recording took place without an audience. “It felt like I finished three concerts in one day. I cried my eyes out when I finished the recording,” she said during her recent V LIVE. In fact, on the day of the filming, IU sang about 60 songs for 14 hours.
IU also added, “My voice didn’t even come out in the last hour. But thanks to all the staff and their support, I was able to sing till the end.” It is said that You Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook‘s production team stood in awe of the singer by the end of the recording.
And You Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook surely enjoyed the “IU effect.”
According to Nielsen Korea, the recent episode of You Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook recorded 2.2% viewership, which is 3 times higher than the previous week.
