Upcoming tvN drama Tale of the Nine-Tailed has revealed new still photos of Lee Dong Wook.

In Tale of the Nine-Tailed, Lee Dong Wook is expected to show his mysterious and intense side as gumiho (nine-tailed fox). Tale of the Nine-Tailed is an “urban fantasy drama” and tells the story of a male gumiho named Lee Yeon who has settled in the city and the fearless television producer determined to hunt him down.

Lee Yeon, who once ruled as a living god of the Baekdudaegan Mountain, now lives in the city in a human form. He travels between this world and the underworld while working as a judge who punishes monsters that disturb the world of the living. He has everything from wealth and charm to exceptional intelligence, but he gets caught up in a cruel love story as he becomes entangled with humans.

In the new stills, Lee Dong Wook has put his charisma on for the first day of shooting. Wearing a clean black suit, he is fighting with an umbrella with a cynical look on his face.

Lee Dong Wook said, “Because there were a lot of actions and CG involved in the sequence, to be honest, the first filming was a bit hard. But we finished successfully thanks to the director, the martial arts director, the action team, and the staff’s thorough preparations.”

He also added, “After the first filming, I had a sense of pride that we had completed a difficult scene, and I formed the trust with the crew. I felt at ease learning that all I have to do is trust the crew, and with that in mind, I’ve been doing well on set while trusting and relying on them.”

The production team said, “As Lee Dong Wook took the reins in the role of Lee Yeon, we are thrilled to have fit the first piece of the large puzzle that is Tale of the Nine-Tailed. Lee Dong Wook is drawing a sense of immersion in the play by researching and interpreting the new character, Lee Yeon. Please look forward to Lee Dong Wook’s dazzling performances in Tale of the Nine-Tailed.”
