The School Nurse Files
Novel-based drama The School Nurse Files tells the story of a school nurse coming upon an unusual mystery at her newly appointed high school and using her special ability to protect her students. Directed by Lee Kyung Mi, known for The Truth Beneath and Persona, expectations are high on how her unique colors will blend with the original novel’s cheerful fantasy story. Jung Yoo Mi and Nam Joo Hyuk will work together as a school nurse and a Chinese character teacher. It will be released on September 25.
Sweet Home
Directed by Lee Eung Bok, who produced Mr.Sunshine and Descendants of the Sun, Sweet Home depicts a bizarre and mysterious story that takes place after a high school student, who has been bullied, loses his family and moves to a new apartment. Love Alarm star Song Kang has been cast as the main character Cha Hyun Soo, who steps out into a world to save people, and Lee Jin Wook, Lee Shi Young, Park Gyu Young, Lee Do Hyun, Kim Gab Soo, and Kim Nam Hee will play big and small roles. Attention is focusing on how well the drama will reproduce the original work, which was full of fun of inferring the desires of people who became monsters in a closed space.
Move to Heaven
Move to Heaven tells a story that takes place when Geu Roo, who has Asperger’s syndrome, and his uncle Sang Goo, who became a temporary guardian, end up running a trauma cleaning business together. Lee Je Hoon and Tang Jun Sang will play the main roles who uncover various stories of the deceased while experiencing different emotions and sentiments about life, death, and family.
Hellbound
The webtoon Hellbound, published by director Yeon Sang Ho and Awl writer Choi Kyu Seok, will be produced as a Netflix original series. Directed by Yeon Sang Ho himself, it is a story about a supernatural phenomenon where supernatural beings from hell appear out of nowhere to condemn people to hell. Yoo Ah In and Park Jung Min will each play the head of the “New Truth Society” and a producer in a broadcasting station who delves into the truth behind “New Truth Society.“ And Kim Hyun Joo takes on the role of a lawyer who stands up against “New Truth Society.” In addition, Won Jin Ah, Yank Ik Jun, Ryu Kyung Soo, and Ki Do Yoon and Lee Re, who have already worked with director Yeon Sang Ho in the movie Peninsula, will appear.
The Silent Sea
The Silent Sea follows a story of elite scientists who set off for the moon to retrieve some unknown samples from an abandoned research station on the year of 2030. It is based on the eponymous 2014 short film directed by Choi Hang Yong, which garnered attention at the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival. Jung Woo Sung will participate in the project as a producer, while Gong Yoo and Bae Doo Na took the lead roles.
All of Us Are Dead
Webtoon-original series All of Us Are Dead is about a group of high school students who face an extreme crisis situation when they are trapped in the school, while a zombie virus spreads like wildfire. Park Ji Hoo, who gained much attention last year with movie House of Hummingbird, will play cheerful Ohn Jo, while Yoon Chan Young, who showed solid performance in drama Nobody Knows, will take on the role of Cheong San, a boy who tries his best to protect his crush, Ohn Jo.
Nemesis
Extracurricular director Kim Jin Nam will partner with Netflix once again to produce Nemesis. Nemesis depicts the revenge of Jiwoo, a woman who joins a gang to avenge her father’s death then goes undercover as a cop.
