After Lee Hyori sang BLOO‘s “Downtown Baby” in MBC’s How Do You Play?, the song rapidly climbed the music charts. And on June 18, BLOO posted a screenshot of the message he received from Lee Hyori personally, drawing attention.

“Downtown Baby” topped the major music charts. But since then, some users of Melon have questioned that the song might have manipulated the chart (sajeagi). They say that it’s doubtful that “Downtown Baby,” which was released in December 2017, suddenly appears on the chart just because Lee Hyori sang it.

However, BLOO posted the screen capture of the message he received from Lee Hyori personally on his Instagram, along with the message, “lee hyori my queen.”

According to the capture, BLOO thanked her for singing his song, and Lee Hyori replied, “I thought it might be a burden to receive all this sudden attention from the public. No matter what they say, I hope it will be an opportunity for you to grow into a great artist who is generous with people who are full of envy.”

Lee Hyori then went on to say, “Thanks to you, I learned that if you work hard with sincerity, heaven will give you a chance someday. It (topping the music charts) was possible because it was a good song. Don’t be shaken or get too excited and watch the situation calmly and enjoy the chart, and the time. You’re already a wonderful person.”

She then added, “I want to top the melon chart, too,” at the end, drawing smiles from viewers with her cheerful charm.
