The new drama Blue Sky (literal translation), which features BTS‘s worldview and growth, is reported to begin its full-fledged production.

A source said in an interview with JoongAng Ilbo on June 17, “The drama ‘Blue Sky,’ produced by Chorokbaem Media, has taken the first step toward production, including auditions and director’s meeting.”

The production of the drama was already reported earlier this year, but no detailed information has been released since then. Only the fact that is is a BTS-related drama was revealed.

The title was chosen as Blue Sky, and producer Kim Hae Hong is said to be in charge of directing. He has co-directed Blooded Palace: The War of Flowers, Your Neighbor’s Wife, Steal Heart, and This is My Love. Writer Kim Soo Jin, best known for Old Miss Diary, Living Among The Rich, and Awl, will be in charge of the script.

The drama is said to depict the school days of BTS members and after their debut. Of course, the big frame will revolve around BTS, but the details will change. It is said that members’ school days have been added with a lot of novel-like stories.

The filming will begin in September. Once auditions are completed, and most cast is cleared up, the filming will start in September after the table read. The drama is scheduled to air next year.
