EXO‘s Baekhyun and Lay are receiving fabulous results with their solo activities, proving their worldwide influence.
According to Gaon Chart, not only did EXO’s Baekhyun topped the album chart and set the new record for the largest solo-album sales in the history of Gaon Chart with his second mini-album Delight, but he also topped the download chart with the title track “Candy,” achieving double crown.
Also, Baekhyun ranked first in MBC’s Show! Champion, which aired on June 3, heralding his journey of collecting trophies in music shows.
Baekhyun is scheduled to appear on KBS’s Music Bank on June 5 and on KBS Radio Kang Hanna’s Volume Up on June 8.
At the same time, EXO’s Lay is resetting a slew of records with his solo album LIT in China.
Lay’s fourth solo album LIT Part.1, released on June 1, not only topped the digital album charts of QQ Music, Kogou Music, and Kuwo Music, but in QQ Music, the entire track was listed in the popularity chart. The music video of the title track “Lit” also topped the music video chart of QQ Music.
Notably, On May 29, the album broke 30 million CNY (approx. 4,209,820 USD) in sales in QQ Music pre-orders in just 7 minutes and 19 seconds, setting a new record for the shortest period.
Then on May 30, just one day after the start of pre-orders, the sales reached 40 million CNY (approx. 5,613,010 USD). So even before the official release of the album, LIT Part.1 became the “Platinum Epic Album,” which is given to the album that achieves 40 million CNY in sales.
