Chaeyeon, a member of DIA, will be excluded from the group’s upcoming comeback. Somyi, another member, is also absent.
On May 30, a comeback teaser photo was posted in DIA’s Instagram. In the photo, without Chaeyeon and Somyi, only five girls – Eunice, Huihyeon, Yebin, Eunchae, Jueun �” are present.
Some argue that Chaeyeon’s absence feels sudden, since she always told her fans, “I’ll see you when we make our comeback.”
On May 29, a day before the teaser photo release, Chaeyeon wrote on her official fan cafe, “I miss you. We’ll see each other soon, right? I hope spring comes soon.”
People are leaving comments such as “I’ve been waiting for a year, but at the last minute, they announce my favorite member’s absence,” “I hope Chaeyeon comes back soon” or “I hope she’s not leaving the team.”
Currently, MBK Entertainment, the group’s agency, has not expressed any particular position regarding the issue.
