Rapper Jay Park donated $10K to a human rights group in anger over the recent death of George Floyd.
The 46-year-old man died Monday night after an officer held him pinned to the ground with a knee on his neck. Despite Floyd pleading and saying he couldn’t breathe, he was held in the same position for several minutes, resulting in his death. Police were called int he scene after a clerk accused Floyd of allegedly trying to pay with a counterfeit $20 bill.
The tragedy has now sparked a number of major protests in Minneapolis, where Floyd lived, as well as other major cities across the US. Jay Park also joined the “issue” by making his voice heard.
On May 28, Jay Park posted a picture of Floyd on his Instagram and wrote a lengthy message. Later that same day, he also tweeted that he has donated $10K to “Black Lives Matter, “drawing attention.
