Red Velvet‘s Irene and Seulgi will make their comeback as a new unit group.
According to SM Entertainment, Irene and Seulgi will release their first mini-album Monster on June 15. The album will include a total of 6 tracks.
The unit logo image was also unveiled. On a black background, a special letter “&” was engraved in white. As some say that the logo resembles the logo of Red Velvet, expectations for the unit’s new music is rising rapidly.
The reaction is already hot. This is the first unit activity of Red Velvet in six years since its official debut in 2014. Irene and Seulgi have proven their unique vocals through various collaborations and OST.
Before their debut as Red Velvet, Irene and Seulgi became the first unit to come out of SMRookies as “SR14G Seulgi & Irene.” At the time, they reinterpreted S.E.S.’s “Be natural,” drawing attention with their energetic yet sensuous performances.
An official said, “Irene & Seulgi is the first unit of Red Velvet, which is gaining global popularity for its wide musical spectrum and flawless concepts. They are active as all-round artists, including fashion and entertainment, as well as their outstanding performances. Please look forward to a unit that will show the perfect synergy of the two.”
Meanwhile, Irene & Seulgi’s first mini-album Monster will begin its preorders today (May 27).
