Gugudan‘s Kim Se Jeong will make her first attempt at a musical.
Kim Se Jeong confirmed her appearance in the Army’s creative musical Return (subtitle: Promise of the Day), held at Woori Financial Art Hall in Olympic Park from June 4.
Return was designed to convey the meaning of the footsteps of ancestors who sacrificed their lives for the country. It tells the story of patriots who were killed in the Korean War.
Kim Se Jeong plays Hae Sung. As the twin sister of Hae Il, she borrows someone else’s name and joins the army. Hae Il, who shows extensive literary knowledge, will be played by Lee Jae Kyoon and Lee Chan Dong.
The character poster has been unveiled as well. In the poster, Kim Se Jeong is wearing a military uniform, and her face is full of large and small wounds.
Return received a hearted response during its premiere. As soon as the ticket went on sale, all seats were sold out, eventually attracting 50,000 viewers.
Kim Se Jeong’s transformation is also expected. With her first solo album Flowerpot, which was released in March, she is now recognized as a solid singer-songwriter with stable musical abilities.
Meanwhile, Return stars Kim Se Jeong, EXO’s D.O and Xiumin, Infinite’s Lee Sung Yeol, FT Island’s Lee Hong Ki, Kim Min Suk, and Yoon Ji Sung. The musical will run from June 4 to July 12.
