BTS‘s Suga swept the world’s music charts with his second mixtape (music produced for non-commercial purposes and distributed free of charge).

At 6:00 p.m. on May 22 KST, Suga unveiled the mixtape D-2  on Apple Music and Sound Cloud. Back in August 2016, Suga released his first mixtape under his second stage name of Agust D.

Although the mixtape was released as a surprise, it is drawing keen attention from music fans around the world.

Thanks to such interest, D-2 topped iTunes Album Charts in 66 countries and regions, including the United States and Britain, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, and Japan.

The title track “Daechwita” topped iTunes Top Song Charts in 30 countries and regions, including France, Chile, Finland, Denmark, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Turkey, and Thailand.

“Daechwita” is a song made by sampling traditional Korean military music Daechwita. It combines trap beat and traditional musical instrument sounds, featuring a unique atmosphere and vibes. Suga compared himself to a “tiger” and powerfully poured out his signature sharp and charming rap.
