The reports of Big Hit Entertainment acquiring Pledis Entertainment has emerged again. However, both companies denied the fact.

On May 18, a media outlet reported that the merger between Big Hit Entertainment and Pledis Entertainment had been confirmed. According to the report, Big Hit has decided to merge with Pledis to build a more potent lineup and has completed all contracts. As the rumors of a merger between Big Hit and Pledis has been steadily surfacing, attention has been drawn.

Another media outlet also reported that Pledis already informed all their artists of the decision.

However, Big Hit Entertainment stated that “We are open to various opportunities, but nothing has been decided yet.” Pledis is also stating that “There is nothing to answer, and nothing has been decided.”

In July last year, Big Hit acquired Source Music, the former GFRIEND‘s agency. Not long ago, it has been reported that the company is seeking to list KOSPI along with its IPO within the year.
