With Only Two Episode Left, ‘The World of the Married’ Cast Say Goodbye and Herald the Last Showdown

JTBC’s Friday-Saturday drama The World of the Married captivated the small screen, setting the highest viewership among non-terrestrial dramas, despite being rated R. However, excessive violent production and commercialization of sex remain regrettable.

Now with only two episodes left, The World of the Married is again in front of the crossroads. Ji Sun Woo, who had fallen into the despair after losing everything precious, once again stood with her own feet for her son, Lee Joon Young. Yeo Da Kyung, who tried to turn a blind eye to anxiety to protect her world, faced betrayal from her husband, Lee Tae Oh.

Kim Hee Ae, who plays Ji Sun Woo, who is caught up in the precarious vortex calmly and sometimes violently, praised her fellow actors and staff, saying, “The director, writer, actors, and staff all worked hard.” She then added, “The intense days of crying and laughing after meeting Ji Sun Woo will remain in my memory for a long time. Most of all, thanks to all the viewers who sympathized with and cheered for all of Ji Sun Woo’s emotions never allowed me to be lonely. I sincerely thank you all again for your keen interest and affection.”

The actor also delivered a pivotal point to pay attention to in the upcoming episodes. “Ji Sun Woo and Lee Tae Oh continued a terrible relationship, never being able to break away to freedom. Please wait and watch what kind of ending the relationship that has been muddled with love and hatred will bring about,” said Kim Hee Ae. “Situational changes and emotions are at stake till the end. Even the stories of people around Ji Sun Woo and Lee Tae Oh will churn altogether. I hope you pay keen attention to everyone’s choices and enjoy them.”

Although numerous dramas featured husbands having an affair, there was no character as mean and contradictory as Lee Tae Oh. Park Hae Joon played the role of Lee Tae Oh, who will forever be remembered for his line, “Falling in love is not a sin!” He also expressed his feelings about the drama coming to an end that he will miss the filming locations. He went on to say, “The key is what kind of message the drama will leave as it ends. Please look forward to how the wounds of the characters will resolve.”

Han So Hee took on the role of Yeo Da Kyung, who was different from any other woman who committed adultery in dramas. She said, “I learned so much. It was an honor just to work with such amazing actors.” She added, “After so many things pass by like a hurricane, please focus on what these characters will achieve, abandon, and are left with.”

The 15th episode of JTBC’s The World of the Married will air at 10:50 p.m. on May 15 KST.
