Oh My Baby, which will premiere on May 13, depicts the romance between a woman, who wants to skip marriage and straight to having a child, and three men.
Just like the phrase “Marriage? No, I just want kids,” the drama draws attention by introducing fresh materials on the forefront to match the current lifestyle in which various lifestyles are respected. Oh My Baby is making headlines with the real-life stories that will be captured by writer Noh Seon Jae, a former reporter for a parenting magazine. Along with the office life, which revolves around the “The Baby” editorial department, it will raise the level of immersion with realistic portrayals of social problems such as single parent, working mothers, and women whose careers have been stalled.
Let’s take a look at the characters played by Jang Na Ra, who returned to the romance genre with a character who will draw the empathy from women in their 30s and 40s, and Go Joon, Park Byung Eun, and Jung Gun Joo.
Jang Na Ra – Jang Ha Ri (senior reporter)
She is a workaholic career-woman, who has been working non-stop for 15 years. Although she is recognized for her ability as number two and an influential person in a parenting magazine named “The Baby,” she has not been on a date for 10 years. However, since she has a mother-like friend and a colleague who she can go on a trip with, she finds no reason to get married. So she made up her mind: to give up on marriage and only have kids.
Go Joon – Han Yi Sang (freelance photographer)
A celibate who once devoted himself to love, but now finds it boring to live. So he is always in search of a new hobby. After failing in a relationship with his first love, who he had dated for 17 years, he became skeptical about marriage and childbirth.
Park Byung Eun – Yoon Jae Young (specialist in the department of pediatrics and adolescents)
He is a close friend of Jang Ha Ri and is currently living at her house. He was born in a wealthy family and grew up with no hardships. He married his classmate he met when he was a resident, but the wife left the house on the day of their baby’s 100th-day celebration. After living like a loser for a while, he moved into his best friend, Jang Ha Ri’s house.
Jung Gun Joo – Choi Kang Eu Tteum (new recruit in the advertising team of “The Baby”)
He is tactless but is always super positive. He joined the advertising-sales team just before he entered the second year of “job-searching.” He often gets scolded by Jang Ha Ri as he learns how to work. Naturally, he thinks he can do anything for her.
