The Supreme Court has ordered unlicensed BTS pictorial manufacturers to shut down.

On May 8th, Big Hit Entertainment announced, “The Supreme Court recognized the illegality of manufacturers producing unlicensed BTS pictorials. It recognized that the ability to attract consumers belongs to BTS and their agency Big Hit Entertainment. Therefore, agencies will be able to fight against the fake goods and pictorials that have targeted fandoms since the first generation of idol groups.”

In 2018, Big Hit Entertainment had sued manufacturers that have been selling unlicensed BTS pictorials, finally winning the case after two years.

Big Hit Entertainment also stated, “We have legal grounds to protect the artists’ intellectual property. We will use these grounds to fight against any illegal infringement of rights in the future.”
