IU and BTS Suga’s collaboration single “Eight” has been sweeping the charts since its release on May 6th.
Along with the song, its music video has been gaining a lot of spotlight among the fans who have been speculating that the song is dedicated to IU’s late friend Sulli. And many listeners commented that the lyrics depict sadness despite the song’s upbeat melody.
The music video shows an animated version of IU on a plane going through a violent turbulence and shows her shedding a tear after seeing a girl riding into the clouds on the back of a dragon.
After seeing the music video and hearing the lyrics, people have been speculating that the girl riding on the back of the dragon is supposed to represent Sulli.
