Putting an end to the long wait, Space Sweepers finally unveiled its first launching trailer, grabbing the attention from around the world.
Except for the fact that Song Joong Ki, Kim Tae Ri, Jin Sun Kyu, and Yoo Hae Jin starred in the film, not much information about Space Sweepers has been released. However, on May 6, the first launching trailer got released, showcasing the vast universe and a spaceship The Victory.
Space Sweepers, set in 2092, follows the crew of a space junk collector ship called The Victory. When they discover a humanoid robot named Dorothy that’s known to be a weapon of mass destruction, they get involved in a risky business deal.
In 2092, the universe is filled with dangerous garbage, such as discarded satellites and drifting spacecraft, and spaceship The Victory roams through space in search of lucrative garbage, competing with other space-cleaning ships.
Song Joong Ki is making his return to the big screen after three years with the role of pilot Tae Ho. Kim Tae Ri takes on the role of The Victory’s young captain Jang Sun Jang with slick back hair and sunglasses, once again heralding a whole new transformation.
Jin Sun Kyu plays engineer Tiger Park and presents a whole new side of him with reggae hairstyle and tattoos all over his body. In addition, a critical factor in The Victory’s success lies in the harpooning robot. Yoo Hae Jin plays the harpoon-robot Updong. For the first time in Korean films, Yoo Hae Jin took on the role of a robot, working with other actors through motion capture.
