We got to meet actor Choi Woo Shik, who showcased his first film Time to Hunt after Parasite.

Time to Hunt is a thriller film that captures the breathtaking story of four friends who plan a dangerous operation for a new life and their mystery pursuer. Choi Woo Shik played the role of Ki Hoon, who joined the plan at first but began to falter as his family became dangerous.

What attracted Choi Woo Shik to appear in the movie? He said, “When I’m working on a film, I think about the process first. I think I was most curious about what it would be like to work with Lee Je Hoon, Ahn Jae Hong, Park Jung Min and Park Hae Soo. The role of Ki Hoon, who I played, allowed me to present the side that I never got to show before, and I was curious about the director after seeing ‘Bleak Night.’ Also, I wanted to see the completed version of the work.”

What does Choi Woo Shik think is the charm of the movie? He said, “I thought that the movie presented the combination of actors that I wanted to see. I thought that it would be fun to act with the fellow actors in the same scene, and I think that might just be the charm of the movie. And if you look at the movie, you can see how the director used unique angles, and the lighting is also quite different. It’s fun to watch such fresh production techniques. “

From Parasite to Netflix’s Time to Hunt, Choi Woo Shik’s popularity has increased significantly. “The most noticeable thing is the increase in Instagram followers. That’s when everything felt real. There was definitely an increase in the number of Korean fans, but it was amazing to see how my Instagram followers increased when ‘Parasite’ became a hit. I’m always grateful that I received so much love unexpectedly,” he said, expressing his feelings about his changed popularity.

When asked about working in Hollywood, he said, “I think people paid attention after seeing me do interviews in English regarding ‘Parasite.’ I’m currently getting some offers. I’m still under discussion regarding Hollywood movies, and nothing has been confirmed yet.”

Choi Woo Shik also mentioned about Time to Hunt being released on Netflix. He said, “My overseas friends responded right away. I think that is the upside of releasing the movie around the world simultaneously. Another advantage is that you can see it comfortably even during busy schedules, and Park Seo Joon, V, Peakboy, and Park Hyung Sik all cheered me. I swear a lot in the movie, and I guess they quite like those scenes. They are making fun of me by imitating some of the lines.”

As for the focused attention he’s receiving after the Academy Awards, he said, “I’m more worried about my works than before. I once filmed a web drama called ‘The Boy Next Door.’ The story was really light, and the acting was pretty much having fun in front of cameras. I want to do that again. I guess I just want to have fun in front of the camera again without worrying too much about how to deliver the lines or how to express my emotions.”
