Netflix’s Time to Hunt is being criticized for translating “the East Sea” as “the Sea of Japan” in subtitles for German.

On April 23, Time to Hunt was released in more than 190 countries through Netflix. Time to Hunt is a thriller film that captures the breathtaking story of four friends who plan a dangerous operation for a new life and their mystery pursuer.

The film was released after being translated into various subtitles, including English, French, Spanish, Chinese, and German.

However, the problem lies in the scene where Lee Je Hoon says, “I’m at the East Sea.” Most subtitles translated “the East Sea” as it is, but the subtitles in German translated “the East Sea” as “Japanischen Meer (the Sea of Japan).”

In response, Netflix stated that they would check the rest of the subtitles and will revise it soon.
