An absurd news blooper took place when Hyun Bin‘s picture from tvN’s Crash Landing on You showed up side by side with Kim Jong Un, North Korean leader, during CNN Indonesia news.
CNN Indonesia reported on the 21st that North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un was in critical condition after cardiovascular surgery. And in the report, CNN Indonesia screened photos of Kim Jong Un and Hyun Bin together.
Earlier this year, Hyun Bin played the role of Ri Jung Hyuk, a North Korean army officer, in tvN drama Crash Landing on You. The picture of him in the North Korean army uniform was edited and used with a photo of Kim Jong Un.
Local fans protested against the mistake, and CNN Indonesia belatedly apologized. CNN Indonesia said, “The report on Kim Jong Un has nothing to do with Ri Jung Hyuk, a character from a Korean drama. We didn’t mean it and apologize for the mistake.”
However, the happening was also reported in Korea, drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Crash Landing on You is once again gaining popularity in Asia, including Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia, through Netflix.
