Actor Kim Woo Bin has resumed his acting career for the first time in more than four years with director Choi Dong Hoon’s Extraterrestrial (literal translation), and started a 10-month run.
Kim Woo Bin started filming for Extraterrestrial on March 29. Extraterrestrial is a new film directed by Choi Dong Hoon in five years since Assassination. It has been kept a secret so far, but it was recently revealed that Extraterrestrial is a SF film that depicts the story between the ‘masters’ of the late Goryeo Dynasty and aliens living in South Korea. Kim Woo Bin will star as one of the main roles.
Originally, Kim Woo Bin was suppose to star in director Choi Dong Hoon’s film, Wiretap (literal translation) in 2017 with Lee Jung Jae, Yeom Jung Ah and Kim Ewi Sung. However, when the news of his health was made public, director Choi indefinitely postponed the production of the film and disbanded the staff.
But now that Kim Woo Bin has recovered his health and resumed his acting career, director Choi revised the script of Extraterrestrial so that Kim Woo Bin will join the film with a major role in both first and second parts, not as a special appearance.
The film plans to produce the First and Second Parts of the movie at the same time and release them sequentially. The filming will start on March and go on for 10 months. Extraterrestrial was originally scheduled to film outdoors first, but with coronavirus pandemic, it started filming in the set first on March 29.
Meanwhile, Extraterrestrial will feature prominent actors, including Ryun Jun Yeol, Kim Tae Ri, Kim Woo Bin, Cho Woo Jin, Kim Eui Sung, Yeom Jeong Ah, So Ji Sub and Yoo Jae Myung.
The fact that this is a new film of director Choi Dong Hoon, who has released 10-million-viewers-films in a row, The Thieves and Assassination, keen attention is being focused.
