The Story of Gumiho is an “urban fantasy melodrama” of Gumiho, who settles in the city and a ‘producer’ who chases him. Director Kang Shin Hyo, who is know for his works like SBS’s The Heirs and OCN’s Children of a Lesser God, and wrtier Han Woo Ri, who also worked on OCN’s Children of a Lesser God, will come together, heralding a whole new fantasy melodrama.

Previously, actor Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah confirmed their appearances.

Moreover, unlike previous dramas where Gumiho was depicted as female, The Story of Gumiho is raising expectations by depicting male Gumiho in an urban setting.

Also, the fact that this is Kim Bum’s return to the small screen in four years since Mrs. Cop 2 are grabbing the attention. In The Story of Gumiho, Kim Bum will play the role of Lee Rang, a half brother of Lee Yeon (Lee Dong Wook), who is half-Gumiho and half-human.

In the drama, Lee Rang is depicted as a character who despises humans more than anyone despite the fact that he lives among them, and sometimes seduces people saying that he will grant their wishes, but making them pay a terrible price. He is the most “dangerous Gumiho” in existence.

tvN’s new drama, The Story of Gumiho, will air in the second half of this year.
