The King: Eternal Monarch is a fantasy romance about the two parallel universes of a monarchy and a democracy. Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho), the Emperor of the Korean Empire, tries to close the gate between the two worlds, and detective Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun) joins forces with him to protect the people.

The drama received explosive responses as they released the 35-second trailer for the upcoming first episode on April 3.

First of all, the two parallel universes of Korea (Korean Empire and current Korea) were shown. Then, the narrative in Lee Min Ho’s voice comes out, saying, “God has left the evil loose in the human world and the devil has opened the door to the parallel universe,” raising the curiosity.

Later, following Jung Tae Eul waling in the forest, Lee Gon rides a horse and gets sucked into the portal between the stone pillars. Finally, Lee Gon stands in front of Jung Tae Eul, saying, “I finally meet you.” The affectionate tension between the two is catching the eye.

Meanwhile, the first episode of The King: Eternal Monarch will air at 10:00 p.m. on April 17 KST.
