Various dramas are getting ready to meet the viewers in April. In March, a variety of dramas, including tvN’s Hospital Playlist, A Piece of Your Mind, JTBC’s The World of the Married, and MBC’s 365: Repeat the Year have come out. The “rush” of new dramas will continue in April as well. One of the most anticipated dramas are waiting for their release.
The most anticipated work is SBS’s The King: Eternal Monarch (hereinafter referred to as The King). The King, which is set to premiere on April 17, is a new drama of Kim Eun Sook, who is making the return to SBS in seven years since The Heirs. Two actors who have already worked with Kim Eun Sook, Lee Min Ho in The Heirs, and Kim Go Eun in Goblin, came together to star in The King. It is a fantasy romance about the two parallel universes of a monarchy and a democracy. Lee Gon, the Emperor of the Korean Empire, tries to close the gate between the two worlds, and detective Jung Tae Eul joins forces with him to protect the people. The drama drew much attention just by releasing the posters and teasers. You can feel SBS’s extraordinary aspirations to mark their 30th anniversary.
The “viewership queens” are also making their comeback. Lee Bo Young will be returning to the small screen with tvN’s When My Love Blooms, which will premiere on the 25th. The drama depicts a man and a woman in their 40s reuniting with their first love. Yoo Ji Tae will work with Lee Bo Young, while Jeon So Nee and Park Jin Young of GOT7 will take on their childhood roles and portray their mournful first love. The fact that this is the big comeback of Lee Bo Young, who has made various hits with KBS2’s Seo Young, My Daughter, SBS’s I Hear Your Voice, God’s Gift: 14 Days, Whisper and tvN’s Mother, is catching the eye.
Choi Kang Hee, who showed stable performances through KBS2’s Queen of Mystery series, returns with action comedy drama, Good Casting. The story revolves around the female NIS agents, who used to work in offices, are transferred to the actual scenes. Lee Sang Yup, Yoo In Young, and Kim Ji Young have already confirmed their appearances. The drama will air on April 27.
On the other hand, KBS has joined hands with young stars. Born Again, which will air on April 20, features young stars such as Jang Ki Yong, Jin Se Yeon, and Lee Soo Hyuk under the theme of reincarnation. Painting a mystery melodrama depicting the fate and resurrection of three men and women intertwined in two lives, the three actors will challenge the double role.
JTBC presents Model Detective, an investigation drama in which two completely different detectives search for the truth that has been covered up. Song Hyun Joo will play a veteran detective with street smarts whereas Jang Seung Jo will play an elite detective who graduated from the police academy. The drama will premiere on April 27.
