Actor Han Hyo Joo is highly likely to star in The Pirates 2, the sequel to the 2014 action comedy film The Pirates.
On March 24, an official from BH Entertainment, Han’s management agency, stated in an interview with News1 that the actor had been positively considering her appearance in the movie after getting a proposal from the production team of The Pirates 2.
Starring Kim Nam Gil, Son Ye Jin and Yoo Hae Jin, The Pirates became a huge box office hit in 2014 by attracting more than 8.66 million viewers to the theatres. While The Pirates 2 was initially planned as a sequel featuring all of the main characters in the original film, it was recently reported that its cast would be replaced entirely because the original members such as Kim Nam Gil, Son Ye Jin and Yoo Hae Jin refused to star in the sequel.
Ahead of Han Hyo Joo, other actors including Kwon Sang Woo, Lee Kwang Soo and Kang Ha Neul were also mentioned as the lead roles of The Pirates 2. Meanwhile, The Pirates 2 starts filming this July and enters its production with the goal of premiering next year.
