Kang Daniel will release his first mini-album CYAN today and make a full comeback to the K-POP scene. This is the first album he will be releasing in about four months since TOUCHIN, a digital single released in last November.
In December last year, Kang announced that he will be temporarily suspend his activities. At the time, his agency said that the singer will take sufficient amount of rest and stability, saying that he visited hospital due to poor health and psychological anxiety and was diagnosed with depression and panic disorder.
He later expressed his willingness to resume his career in January, saying, “I’m trying to get back on my feet and welcome the upcoming spring.” Soon after, he surprised his fans by reporting the release of the new album, following his first solo reality show.
CYAN, Kang’s first min-album, is the third “COLOR” series following “color on me.” This will mark the first step on Kang’s full-fledged journey to create his own color.
“I’m happy to be able to do music and perform on stage once again,” Kang said through his agency. “Although this is a comeback, I feel like I’m debuting for the first time. This album is very precious and important, and at the same time, a challenge. I think I can do well,” he added, expressing expectations for his upcoming comeback.
“2U,” the title track, is a song that tells “there’s someone beside you who loves you just because it’s you” to those who feel tired and lonely after running towards their dreams.
“Jealous,” which starts with a piano sound full of excitement, will feature a refreshing spring mood, and “Interview,” which is filled with a rhythmical tone, groovy bass, and the splendid arrangement of synth sounds, will also be included in the album. Also, “TOUCHIN” and “ADULTHOOD,” which were previously released last November, will be included as well.
Meanwhile, the singer will hold his first comeback stage of CYAN through “Kang Daniel Comeback Show CYAN,” which will air on Mnet and M2 Digital Channels at 8:00 p.m. today (March 24) KST.
