K-POP group BLACKPINK‘s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” music video surpassed 1.1 billion views in YouTube around noon on March 24. This is the first milestone set by any K-POP group. It’s been a year and nine months since the song was officially released.

The music video of “DDU-DU DDU-DU“ has proved the steady love of global fans, following the record of 1 billion views just four months ago.

“DDU-DU DDU-DU“ is the title track of BLACKPINK’s first mini-album SQUARE UP in 2018. The choreography of shooting pistols with their hands is the key point. Soon after the release, the song topped the “World’s Most Viewed K-POP Music Video” that year, creating a cover dance craze among the fans.

Also, with the song, BLACKPINK became the first K-POP girl group to win the US RIAA Gold Certification. The group is also the first girl K-POP group to make its name on YouTube’s “Diamond Creator Awards” with 10 million subscribers.

Meanwhile, with “Kill This Love,” released last year, BLACKPINK is already renewing all the achievements made by “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” grabbing the attention as to what kind of all-time high records the song will set.
