Kim Doyeon of Weki Meki has been confirmed to join Kim Min Kyu as a lead in the upcoming webtoon-original web drama Boy and Girl Straight Out of a Cartoon (literal translation).
Also, the rest of the cast includes, Choi Hyun Wook, Han Ji Hyo, and Lim Bo Ra.
Boy and Girl Straight Out of a Cartoon tells the story of the whirlwind romance between Chun Nam Wook (Kim Min Kyu), the male protagonist of a long-running manhwa (Korean comics), who for some reason steps into the real world, and Hang Sun Nyeo, a high school student who happens to share the same face and the name as the female protagonist in the same manhwa.
Kim plays Han Sun Nyeo, who suddenly finds herself living with Chun Nam Wook as secret roommates. Evern though her mother is the writer of the manhwa “Sun Nyeo and Nam Wook,” but she herself isn’t a fan of the work, nor the character Sun Nyeo.
Noh Ye Jun, a rookie actor who is about to debut in a web drama, is played by Choi Hyun Wook. Han Ji Hyo will play the role of Park Min Jeong, a close friend of Han Seon Nyeo and Noh Ye Jun and also a would-be webtoon writer.
An official from Playlist said that they completed the cast lineup for the drama with unique, charismatic young actors. They also added to “Please look forward to how the drama will provide a different fun from the original webtoon.”
The upcoming drama will start filming in April, and will start airing in June.
