Lee Jung Jae and Park Hae Soo confirmed their appearances in Netflix original series Squid Games on March 11.
The series Squid Games tells the story of those who participate in the mysterious survival game to win the prize money of 45.6 billion KRW (approximately 38,293,102 USD).
The title comes from the children’s alley game, in which attackers and defenders confront each other on a circle, triangle and square-shaped drawing.
This is the first time for Lee Jung Jae to participate in Netflix original series. He will be playing the role of Ki Hoon, who participate in the secret survival game after getting fired for restructuring.
Park Hae Soo will play the role of Sang Woo, a close friend of Ki Hoon. Sang Woo graduated Seoul National University even with his poor background but decides to participate in the game after getting in trouble for using company funds.
A cold-blooded survival game with only one winner. The two actors’ individuality and acting prowess are expected enliven the story.
Hwang Dong Hyuk, director of The Fortress, Miss Granny, and SILENCED, will work as both the director and writer for the series. This is the first time for him to direct a drama, not a movie.
