‘Beasts Clawing at Straws’ Retains Crown of Box Office For 3 Days Amid Worsened Fears of Coronavirus

The latest crime drama Beasts Clawing at Straws, released last Wednesday (Feb. 19), has maintained No. 1 spot in the Korean box office for the last three days despite of the disastrous decline of moviegoers, which was affected by the steep rise the Coronavirus patients in Korea.

According to KOREA Box-office Information System (KOBIS), run by Korean Film Council (KOFIC), Beasts Clawing at Straws attracted 58,899 viewers to the 979 screens with 4,558 times of screenings on Feb. 21. Its cumulative viewers reached 205,371 mark on the same day. The film was followed by the Hollywood war blockbuster 1917 and Ra Mi Ran‘s one-top comedy Honest Candidate in the box office.

We hope Coronavirus stop spreading soon and the cinemas will be crowded again.
