BTS‘s new song “On” will be pre-released for 30 seconds.
On Feb. 19, TikTok reported that they will pre-release the title track “On” of BTS fourth full-length album Map of the Sol: 7 at 6 a.m. on Feb. 21st.
This is the first time that BTS has decided to pre-release its title song through a video platform. 30 seconds of ‘On’ will be released 12 hours ahead of its official release time of 6 p.m, raising expectations for the big comeback of BTS.
“This is an unconventional attempt that is not easily found in the popular music market, but this kind of promotion technique has already been carried out on TikTok several times,” an official from TikTok said. “Through the global community formed within the app, artists will be able to effectively elicit simultaneous responses from around the world.“
BTS will release its fourth full-length album Map of the Sol: 7 at 6 p.m. on Feb. 21. The album will contain a total of 20 tracks, including the title track “On.” The digital version of “On” is drawing more attention as pop singer Sia, known for “Chandelier” featured in the song.
