The Attorney – All power comes from the people

Viewed by over 11 million people, <The Attorney> is a film focusing on the “Burim Case” of former president Noh Moo-hyun’s time as a lawyer before his presidency in the 1980s during the oppression of democracy.

The film reveals the story of Song Woo-suk, a tax lawyer, who has taken charge of defending the case of Jin-woo, the son of an owner of a restaurant that he frequently visits and shares a family-like relationship with. Over the course of five trial sessions defending Jin-woo, Song Woo-suk’s life begins to change in unexpected ways.

Song Woo-suk’s life as an average citizen caught in the whirlwind of the changing times is performed brilliantly by Song Kang-ho, one of Korea’s most revered actors and the star to many box office hits such as <Snowpiercer>, <Parasite>, and <Memories of Murder>. This role also gave birth to the iconic scene in the film of Song Kang-ho standing up for the sovereignty of the citizens of Korea which instills a passion in many still today.

In addition, you can spot many other stars in the movie such as Im Si-wan, who recently made his comeback after completing his military service with the up and coming drama <Strangers from Hell>. The supporting cast of Kim Young-ae, Kwak Do-won, and Lee Seong-min also brought stellar performances to create a captivating storyline told through the movie <The Attorney>.
